RERA Disclosure
Information for property buyers and agents in India. This page is informational only.
1. What RERA Is
RERA — the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 — is the Indian law regulating the sale of plots, apartments and buildings in notified projects. Each state and union territory notifies its own Real Estate Regulatory Authority (for example MahaRERA, UP RERA, Karnataka RERA) which registers projects and agents and hears complaints.
2. Where to Verify
- Always verify a project's RERA registration number on the official portal of the state where the project is located (e.g. maharera.mahaonline.gov.in for Maharashtra) — not solely on EstateHub.
- Check the project name, promoter, registration validity, approved plans and complaint history on the authority portal before paying any booking amount.
- For resale or rental of completed units, RERA project registration may not apply — verify the title and approvals independently.
3. Agent Licence vs Project RERA Numbers
- An agent licence (RERA agent registration) authorises the agent to facilitate transactions — it is not a project approval.
- A project RERA number certifies that a specific project is registered with the authority — it does not certify the agent.
- Where agents display a licence number on EstateHub, it is self-declared; we show it as provided and buyers should verify it on the state authority portal.
4. EstateHub Disclaimer
EstateHub is an advertising and listing portal. Displaying a RERA number or licence number on a listing does not constitute verification by us. We do not guarantee the accuracy, validity or currency of third-party RERA claims. Buyers must conduct independent due diligence.
5. No Legal Advice
Nothing on this page or the portal constitutes legal advice. For RERA complaints, title verification or transaction structuring, consult a qualified advocate or the relevant state Real Estate Regulatory Authority. See also our Terms of Service.
